This honor is long over due. John was always an inspiration to us younger kids growing up in Father Panik Village. I hope he receives this well deserved honor!

As a proud Warren Harding H.S. Grad (Class of '66), I am pleased to sign this petition in support of naming it's new football field in honor of Coach John Lewis. In my opinion, there is no one in or from the City of Bridgeport who is more deserving. I add to this suggestion because of the tireless & selfless commitment Coach Lewis contributed (both on and off the field) to WHHS and the City itself. He was a positive role model, teacher, counselor, and influence to countless young males (& females), guiding them to a meaningful and successful future at a time when options were few. So, on behalf of myself and that of my late brother-in-law, Horace Geer (who passed away earlier this year, leaving his mark and heart on the former field under the tutelage of this Coach), I humbly submit my request.
