This petition is to see how many people would support a brand new, climate controlled, state of the art facility here in West Texas, as well as what kind of park, and what location would best for it.
For the last 5 years Les Burrus and myself, Tony Maples have dedicated our lives to this community, and to the One-9 Skatepark. It has been our passion and our love for all these years, and now, due to circumstances outside of out of our control, it will be closing down.
We realize the need of an indoor facility here in West Texas, and we do not want this to be the end, so we are formulating the plans for a brand new, climate controlled, state of the art indoor action sports facility.
This facility will be designed, planed, and built with each and every one of you getting a say as to what you want. You will get to help us plan and design the park, so we can make this the place exactly what everyone wants.
We want to bring the absolute best park we can offer to Lubbock, and by sharing, donating, and supporting us you can be a part of our dream.
Please sign this petition, and comment what part of town you would like to see it in, and what features you think it should have.
We greatly appreciate each and every one of you, lets give this town the park it deserves!

South lubbock needs something like this for sure! Sick of driving so far just to ride. Hope this happens soon.
PLEASE make this happen. My boys are so bummed about one9 closing. They need somewhere to go that isnt just sitting on the couch playing xbox all day.
People really do not realize how many talented skaters bikers and scooter riders we have in Lubbock and the surrounding communities a new skatepark would just amplify their talent and bring in so many more talented individuals!
My son and his friends have spent many hours at One-9. An indoor facility anywhere in the city would be awesome.
We will all miss one9 but I have hopes for the luck skaters and that we will get a new indoor park! Just keep sharing and spread the word!

Lubbock is in need of a better park either outdoor or indoor. Even small towns like plain view have a better park. I skateboard and ride a scooter I have two sons who also have started skateboarding and scoot wrong. It's something positive they like to do. Most kids now days are stuck on there video games and phones. One of the parks here are located on a side of town That's not in the best location for younger kids, the ramps are falling apart and a lot of riff raff people hanging around. Another issue is a lot of skaters dislike the fact that young kids are at the parks, I see guys getting frustrated at younger kids a lot. We are all here for one thing to have fun.
