We as a Ladue community do not support the proposed changes to the Ladue Horton Watkins High School schedule for the 2015/2016 school year. The changes include abolishing Academic Lab, and replacing it with a far more limiting study period called "Common Learning Time." Students will be restricted to seeing only three teachers under an overly structured system. This will obstruct student's path to independence and readiness for college, along with making it difficult to catch up after falling behind. Additionally the new schedule includes a third day (along with two block days) called a "Ram Day" when students will attend all seven of their classes rather than the current block schedule. Seven classes in a single day means more stress, more homework and a more exhausting day at school. These changes will negatively impact current and future students and teachers at LHWHS. The Ladue community stands together to prevent these changes.

AcLab is one of the things that keep my brothers afloat at the high school. I'll be there next year and I have a feeling I'm going to need it just as much.
