New pavements/cycle lanes in Walton on Thames are DANGEROUS!!!

It's bad as alot of cyclist don't use it and still use the road that's even smaller.

If there is an accident involving a cyclist and/or pedestrian, how is this legally covered and do the cyclists need to have public liability insurance? I also wonder how it works over Walton Bridge where cars are parked on the pavement in the way of the cycle path... Will the cyclist be obliged to ride on the pedestrian side or on the road...? The whole thing is a complete shambles, waste of money and very dangerous. Turning left out of Dudley Road, Cambridge Road, Annett Road you have to go across into the path of oncoming traffic in order to clear the corner pavement.

Accident waiting to happen especially with small children on scooters going from side to side and away from Mum { probably with added pushchair }.

Ridiculous scheme. Already seen a couple of near misses of cars turning left out of Garden Road onto Terrace Road and because of bigger kerbs turning out often means cars are encroaching on wrong side of road with oncoming cars!! Cars parking on Terrace Road outside their houses means the road often becomes one lane only in busy periods. Now need double yellows to stop this parking furthe narrowing a now already narrow main road. Whoever approved this scheme did so without any knowledge of actual roads!!

Why of why, all the things that money could have been spent on. Least now all the mums with two abreast push chairs can get past without me going in the road. Lycra cyclists will not use a path or cycle lanes (im adding traffic light too).....do none of you fools drive!

I live down Thamesmead and the new narrow road and cycle/pedestrian pavement are causing problem's already and quite frankly dangerous! Also when a car decides to park along the new narrow road as there are no yellow lines it cause even more congestion and build up of traffic then there already is! What with the new narrow road and unless bridge that was built Walton on Thames still has a major build up of traffic!

Stupid idea! A cycle lane would have been a lot better. Cars can no longer over take a bike (that is riding in the road rather than the cycle path) so traffic is always built up along terrace road!

This road narrowing is dangerous, and totally useless just like the narrowing on the one way system at Ashley rd, causing more congestion for people trying to get home after work. I'm sure this was the same clever person, university bod no doubt.

This idea was crazy, the Lycra clad riders will not use them causing tail backs, many of these ride two abreast and are most unpleasant when this is pointed out to them. The width of the remaining pavement is not wide enough in many places for a pushchair and a second child on the side without walking the the cycle path.

Somebody will most definitely be seriously injured or even killed. And, has cycling on pavements been given a new law. We were always told to dismount our cycles if caught on pavements and cautioned.

The whole project is utterly ridiculous and has made the road more dangerous for everyone - pedestrians, cyclists and drivers. Shared use paths do not work!

It would have been better to have widened the road and put a cycle track down the side not on the pavement.
