The extension of hours and increased rates signals that the city doesn't want me, a typical New Orleans local, to drive in and partake in the wonderful energy of the French Quarter. What's wrong with me, that you don't want me mingling with the tourists, Mayor?

I work in the French quarter as a hairstylist. We always struggle with our clients' parking. We have been in business for 21 years. This will hurt us and our neighbors. Please reconsider. Thank you.

This will be a serious hardship on myself and many of my friends and co-workers. We already suffer from expensive parking tickets and parking lots. Consider the workers of New Orleans and not only the pockets of the city

e, the undersigned, are petitioning the City Council and Mayor's office of New Orleans to reject Mayor Landrieus' proposed extension of hours and rate increases for public metered spaces in the French Quarter and other areas of New Orleans. This proposed policy will negatively impact working class citizens of our city, especially service industry employees ad musicians who are indispensable to the city's tourist economy. We further ask the Council and Mayor to invite rank and file representatives from the service industry and musicians to discuss more sustainable sour

Making the parking signs less confusing wouldn't hurt either. It seems like residents who are committed to following the law are still unable to keep up all of the time. It's a huge nuisance, almost a racket. Somebody should file a class action lawsuit.
