too many people will lose their jobs if the plant and mine are close. Farmington will be in jepordy. There is more than 700 jobs at risk if this happens!

I believe the PNM's request for a Conditional CCN for San Juan Unit 4 is reasonable and helps preserve jobs in the affected area. I also believe that coal - generated power can be clean and economical, and should have a place in our overall power mix.

Dear PRC,
Please be wise and keep PNM electricity rates affordable with the good coal generation investments that NM rate payers have already paid for. Natural gas will not stay cheap for long, so coal remains the best bet for base-load generation. NM cannot afford another impediment like high electricity costs to further retard economic competitiveness and job creation.
PNM's coal emissions are not that bad since the Farmington metro area air quality is rated second best in the nation.
Respectfully,
Vern Hershberger

Please provide PNM with a Conditional Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity for San Juan Unit 4. The impact of not approving this will be devastating to the NM economy. I understand the environmental and other issues but please give PNM and the communities effected time to phase in the changes needed. Thanks.
