We, the undersigned residents and supporters of New Llano, hereby petition for the installation of basketball goals and the restoration of working restrooms in the New Llano Park/ Freddie Boswell Community Park.

The park in New Llano serves as a vital recreational space for our community, providing opportunities for outdoor activities and social interaction. However, the lack of basketball goals and functional restroom facilities diminishes the parks usability and limits the recreational options available to our residents, particularly our youth.

Basketball is a popular sport enjoyed by people of all ages, promoting physical activity, teamwork, and healthy competition. By installing basketball goals in Freddie Boswell Community Park, we can provide a safe and accessible space for basketball enthusiasts to engage in recreational play, tournaments, and community events. This addition will encourage active lifestyles and foster a sense of community unity among residents. The restoration of basketball goals is vital to keeping our youth of all ages occupied. It will decrease juvenile offenses greatly. It is vital to not only our youth, but our whole community.

Access to clean and functional restroom facilities is essential for any public park. Unfortunately, the current state of the restrooms at the park are non-operational. This presents a health and sanitation concern for park visitors, particularly families with young children and individuals with medical needs. By restoring and maintaining working restrooms', we can ensure a comfortable and hygienic experience for all park users. With our park being a meeting place/practice park for many sports teams in the parish, the children and their families need a working restroom for long practice days.

We respectfully urge the Board and local authorities to prioritize the installation of basketball goals and the restoration of working restrooms in the Freddie Boswell Community Park. These improvements will enhance the parks recreational offerings, promote community well-being, and create a more welcoming environment for residents an visitors alike.
