There are lifeguards already at Clacton already. At low tide having a 'shed' wouldn't make any difference, as they wouldn't be able to safely jump into the sea. Money from local government (you'll be lucky...) would be better spent on education around the sea. In Cornwall lots of teenagers take part in sea swimming classes - perhaps something that could be looked at here?

I am signing this because I agree we need a lifeguard station after the past tragic event that happened at Clacton pier. A poor innocent boy lost his life, we need more knowledge and lessons also given out to young people like Ben expressing the serious dangers of swimming in the sea. R.I.P Ben

The recent sad loss raises this as a priority issue. With the likelihood of ongoing heatwaves and crowded beaches this action is essential for safety. let some good come out of this tragedy.

The emergency services did a fantastic job but the more safety measures in place the better to prevent another tragedy like this happening
