Council wastes on flower boxes . And putting palm trees and volley ball posts on the seafront on sculptures an pieces of “artwork” in beach gardens and neon lighting in beach huts but has never addressed the basics like Life saving floatation devises ,it’s spent millions on rocks and transferring sand to Martello to get holiday makers into the town but can’t address the safety of local children , there should be information surrounding tides , safe places to swim currents and that under the pie should be made safer , there should be access points to the water from the pier itself this tragic loss of life xould have been prevented and the council should feel and be held responsible, the west county has fully trained fully equipped lifesavers manning beaches throughout the year , even as a strong confident swimmer who has swam for her school and for East Sussex as a teenager it is easy to get caught off guard swimming in the sea ,, PLEASE let some positivity come from little bens death ,

A fantastic idea and a worthy cause. I have children and I'm terrified to take them to the beach after what happened. A station there would put so many minds at rest and potentially save many xx

Definitely, a work colleague lost her brother off Clacton Pier a few years ago too. It's a dangerous spot.

on such a busy resort thisshouldnt have to be asked for , perhaps a lottery grant could be applied for aswell

I couldn’t agree more with this, such a tragic loss of a young boy, my thoughts are with you all and we definitely need this set up to avoid further tragedies

I totally agree, Ben could of been saved if we already had this in place too many lives have been lost. A few weeks before the six weeks holidays started my friends kids were in danger in the sea but luckily there was a gentleman who rushed to their rescue and he was just passing by at the time.
