Of course I agree, anything for the safety of people. Its just a shame this wasnt already in place

This should of always been done and in place , it’s a busy time of year and beaches should always have trained lifeguards at all times. A priority in my view.

There are no life guard stations to the left of the pier and with the sudden dip in the water its so dangerous and with the sea defence rocks. You would have difficulty knowing a person was in difficulty and with the packed beach to the right more are choosing the left side. Also these lifeguards are teenagers. Not a lol always alert . Talking and wandering around. They should b observing more by the waters edge. Also no one under the pier. It's always that section 1st and 2nd beach we lose teenagers drowning. When i walk along the left side if pier half the safety rings are missing and non on the pier. Ben was a former pupil at my school and tragic but why were they near the pier swimming. No warnings to not swim in the most dangerous part . He was a very petite figure for 15. Such a sad loss for everyone . More patrols needed.
