Let the kids play. People get closer than 6 ft at Walmart or Shoprite for a few seconds and that is indoors. Baseball is outside and can be done safely. We can't live in a bubble forever!

We all would love to see baseball comeback, but please let’s stop calling it a non-contact, socially distant sport. A sweat- and other fluid-covered (and possibly then virus-carrying) ball being passed from one bare hand to another, even ONCE, automatically shares whatever is on each thrower’s hand, and can easily get to the face, mouth, nose, or another surface. Tagging a player sliding into base IS contact, a runner and baseman standing next to each other at a base is NOT socially distant. Kids MIGHT not be as susceptible, but we know they CAN be silent carriers to Mom, Dad, Grandma and Grandpa. Finally, we need a protocol for what happens when even one player, coach, umpire, or spectator, or family member tests positive or develops COVID19 following a game - contact everyone who was at field? Shut down the involved teams and field staff for quarantine? We have a lot of opportunity to control the environment within the playing area and science should be our friend. Play ball when we have controlled everything we can, and understand the risk as best as possible! Life does need to go on, and baseball is great part of it, but let’s not shorten anyone’s needlessly. Play ball! Play smart!

Well I understand that precautions have to be taken, It does not seem the correct approach to open beaches in New Jersey and not allow for other recreational activities where social distancing is easier. If New Jersey open speeches by memorial day, it Would only be smart to offer other recreational activities that would limit people flocking to the beach. It would be much easier to monitor a baseball tournament for social distancing and the number of fans. Any state that opens up and opportunity for recreation and limits others will be in for a rude awakening. That being said, it’s easier to social distance outside than it is inside. Understanding that limiting contact between people is a huge concern, there needs to be outlets where people can be outside. If not, order will be lost and people will just start disregarding any sort of standards that are set in place.

“Kids are people Too!” If there’s one thing we all know that keep our children out of trouble! Is sports! This summer will be very challenging for all of us! As a Educater and a college graduate. Of all the things that kept me focused on my education, and gave me strength to do well was sports! Not my work study assignment or the girls, but sports! Please give our future(our children)a chance to conquer the upcoming challenges to do the right thing! Remember! Baseball is a American past time that comes in a unique season of the year! Don’t be the like the that say: if only I could of, would of, or should of, because you can! Thank you! Lets play ball!

This can be done, with social distancing in effect, including masks. Allow the boys to be boys

We need baseball back, these kids need baseball back. They cant be confined to their homes forever. They will never get these days back and for many of them they may not ever play again.

Please help us reenable baseball to be played in reasonable, safe conditions for all involved as this will have an enormously positive impact and many players and families.

Many athletes are losing a year of sports. This includes getting looked at by college coaches, scholarships, and just having fun. Don’t let a season of baseball go to waste.
