Allow baseball/softball to be played in New Jersey

The kids need to be out playing not trapped in playing video games .It is very unhealthy for them and is causing depression. Lets get back go playing asap

I am 100% with you Brian. I am not sure if you remember me but I was one of the original players on your dads league back in 1986. You Bob and I went to Florida a few times in the late 80's as well. I still remember you not wanting to go into the pool at the motel because there was a bug in the water! haha I hope your dad and mom are well? Good luck with this petition, they should let the kids play.

I would like to see the USABL come up with a safe plan for allowing the boys back on the field this summer. I believe this can be safely done in a sport like baseball and it would do wonders for the boys as they have suffered so much loss already during this pandemic.

I want to follow the governors guidelines for social distancing and quarantine. But hopefully we can agree that baseball fits within those guidelines and holds about the same risk as golf, which has already been approved to resume.

I am certain that, with proper guidelines, youth baseball can be played this summer in NJ to the benefit and enjoyment of all.

Everyone will be handling the same baseball and other equipment. Children can not be prevented from touching their face. Batter and catcher will be less than 2 feet apart as will firstbasemen and base runner. Dugouts are not safe enough for social distancing. Even if players do not get sick, they can carry infection to older family members. This is not safe. Baseball is a good game and I want it to come back too, but it's not worth risking people's life and health for. Just wait until next year.
