I can go to Walmart, Home Depot, etc be deemed essential, go to any beach I choose around THOUSANDS of people but I can’t have my kids play baseball? What a crap show run by a crap shop. This is why people lose confidence in elected officials and you don’t know what to believe. Stop bending the data to meet your needs Governor. It’s safe to play let them play man! By the way will you be at the shore this weekend?

If you can go to a grocery store, wait in line, and be surrounded by many people, baseball should be able to be played! The kids are not on top of one another like contact sports, and it will allow them to get back into doing what they should be doing as kid, PLAYING BALL!

As a parent and assistant coach, it is critically important to bring some normalcy back into the lives of our children. While I recognize that some precautions will be warranted, there is no reason to deny our youth (among the most resistant to the Coronavirus) the opportunity to exercise and build relationships with others.

The psychological effects on kids already missing school and other end of year festivities, having baseball or softball cancelled will be devastating. Especially when medical experts are saying it is safe to play these outdoor passive sports
Open up the fields please you are not keeping them safer not allowing them to play and are doing more harm than good

This is about the kids, if we have to play with players, coaches, officials and some parent chaperones and keep the crowds out so be it
USA And AAU Volleyball Is doing it in Florida
I also strongly agree with my fellow petitioners. Opening beaches as a safer phase one move before baseball and softball for youths is not based in reality
Let the them play!!!!!!!!

I'm a baseball umpire and miss being on the field. It's time to "Play Ball" The players, coaches, umpires and anyone else can wear masks if needed or any other precautions can be taken but let us get back on the field.

If nothing were open I would still see it as ok, we are being kept safe by a complete shutdown but How is opening beaches and a boardwalk not as risky as allowing kids to take a ball field? Four jokers farting around playing golf is ok? Ridiculous and makes absolutely no sense. It’s obvious youth sports doesn’t bring in more money than the beach for Memorial Day. All about the buck and taking care of a sport (golf) that panders to the affluent. Tell me Mr. Governor how many kids from Camden, Trenton or Newark will be on the golf courses this week? Or can afford a weekend at the shore? Stop the bull and let all kids play a sport designed for ALL to play. I also want to point out that your offices answer to the request to play baseball was also inaccurate as you characterized baseball and softball as a “contact” sport
In short wake up and let the kids out and trust the people, the adults Who care for them keep
Them safe. It’s about time you trust the people you SERVE and who put you in office
Add Softball as well
