It is very sad that the pioneer batch doesn't get to enjoy the new campus at all, although the new JC was already formed 4 years prior to them entering the JC. Given the 4 years, it should have enough runway to build a new JC

Dear Prime Minister, We are staying in Yishun and it takes my boy 45 minutes to commute to his school in Bishan. If the holding site is to be at Mt Sinai, it will take at least 1 1/2 hours to reach there. Please help us by speeding up the building of the JC or at least have the holding site remains in the northern part.

Our children had work hard to earn themselves the eligibility to go into ip schools during psle and we carefully made our choice. Despite the new ip JC has no proven academic records, we put our trust in MOE to deliver the project on time so that our children will have chance to gain unique learning experience in the new JC. However, we were disappointed over the professionalism in handling this delay issue. The insincerity and the failure to analyse the impact on affected parents and students have saddened us. Certainly we deserve a better explanation n solution to the problems. The impact could possibly affect the morale of the students with no faults of theirs. Thank you for kind attention and we desperately need more concrete answers to address our concerns.

We are disappointed on the delay of the new IP JC and the sudden change of location of the holding site. We do not understand why LTA only came into the picture recently as the new IP JC was announced a few years back. MOE did not offer the parents and students an alternative nor coming up with mitigation plan. Distance is one of the important factor when selecting a school and we faithfully followed MOE who advocate find a school near your house. However, this turn out to be otherwise. I sincerely hope that we can expedite the construction since we can build MBS, blocks of BTO flats, Condominiums in 2-3 years, why can't we do the same for jus a school Campus which will not be taller or bigger than blocks of BTO flats.

Dear Mr Prime Minister, I am one of many concerned parent of boys and girls affected by the change in interim campus and permanent site of new JC. Most parents like myself are still reeling from shock and disappointment after receiving the letter informing us of the change. We did not see it coming. In fact, during the annual Parent-Teacher-Meet in January this year, other than the new JC will have to build upward due to space constraint, nothing was being mentioned about delay in holding site or the change in new planning requirements which will push the completion of permanent JC by one and a half year. THIS SUDDEN CHANGE IN PLANNING REQUIREMENT IS UNACCEPTABLE. Our boys and girls have been dealt with double whammy. After being inspired by school leaders to imagine being a pioneer batch of students, what they can contribute to new JC, new campus, our children are so looking forward to paint the canvas and make the new campus a place they could be proud of. And now, they were informed the new JC will only be completed after they graduated. They will not get to enjoy the the new JC facilities and worst, they will not get to know the new JC campus. The sense of belonging will be lost. To make matter worse, their interim campus, currently the holding site for SJI, will not be available either, due to delay in SJI's permanent campus. And instead, former RJC site at Mt Sinai Road will be their interim holding site. This means our boys and girls now have to commute additionally, approx. an hour half to two hours daily compared to the originally planned sites. With their heavy schedule as IP students and CCAs, that leave them very little rest time not to mention play time, which is unhealthy. We parents and child chose the school and it's IP course based on the informations provided by the Ministry there and then. We put trust in the Ministry and its information, and it is unfair and unjust for this sudden change at he 11th hour. Our boys

I am disappointed that the jc is not able to be constructed in time because of the involvement of LTA. If this does not affect the infrastructure of the road or cause MAJOR jams, i dont see the need for LTA to get involved. Thank you.

This I'd retarded. It has been announced, at least look at the fact from another pov.our children will be using upgraded facilities at mt senai.

We as a parent who has made out our children mind set to accept the New JC for the fact of the vicinity of the holding site - which is the first priority and our daughter accepted it even though she was not quite convinced by then but eventually accepted it. Now, look at what have been announced by our MOE, we as parents again felt that we have betrayed our daughter simply because of somebody or some agencies' have not monitored or followed closely his or her duty.

Hi, the students and parents had been promised that the JC came equipped with many good facilities, but what is the point of saying this if the current batch of Secondary 3 students will not be able to experience this AT ALL? Please look into this matter.Thank You.

A 1.5 year delay is quite a long time. We are also worried that there may be more delays.

This abrupt delay happened twice which not only rob away our children of their only chance of their original campus life but was further sacrificed and inconvenienced by being thrown to a far flung holding site at Mount Sinai. Please seriously look into this issue with your various ministries and help to restore our shaken confidence for MOE as well as all uncertainties lying ahead for this new IP JC. The delay is too long. It's not fair to us as our choice of school was supposed to be the new JC at Bishan. We feel helpless as it is difficult to get my child to change to another school now as he is so adjusted to CH now.

I hope that the new JC will be built faster so that I can experience the JC.I also hope that the holding site will be nearer to where I stay.

Final decisions were made based on what was deemed appropriate by ‘authorities’. There was no engagement of stakeholders most impacted by the changes. An open, consultative and respectful approach is appreciated.

If all else fail, SJI should still to their original lease and move out from ITE Bishan so the new JC can use it as and interim. Especially if SJI reason for the delay is that they have not raise the funds to build their new school. They should not drag their feet and cause others to suffer.
