Do you work in Botetourt County but can’t afford to live there?
Do you live in Botetourt County and wish there were more quality home options?
Botetourt County has rightfully increased job opportunities for their residents and should be applauded for it. MORE FOLKS, other than those few who can afford Ashley Plantation, would be able to buy a quality new home in Botetourt County but only if the Magnolia Meadows housing community is approved by the Board of Supervisors!!
This community is planned for one of the few pieces of land that has public utilities and matches the well-researched and thoughtful Comprehensive Plan but umm…it is near one of the RICHEST communities in Southwest Virginia: Ashley Plantation.
Many members of this community are doing everything possible to prevent all but the highest earners the chance to buy a new home. Is this fair to the rest of the 35,000 folks living and working in the Botetourt County community?

The momentum behind this petition proves that Botetourt County residents are fed up with the gatekeeping at Ashley Plantation. The Board of Supervisors can no longer ignore the fact that our working families deserve a place to live.

Affordable housing in Botetourt is a must. If the county is to continue to grow and attract more industries there must be affordable housing for it's employees. We need to stop letting a small few dictate what happens in the entire county by employing mob rule tactics.
I have worked in Botetourt for 27 years. I am married to a pastor, and we have four children. Affordable family housing is a necessity. I live in Roanoke Co and commute 45 minutes. I hope this happens!
I know that change can be seen as bad and scary but I love this neighborhood idea. Botetourt needs more neighborhoods especially on this side of the high school. Would you rather have commercial or nicer houses? I am all in on this.
I currently work in Botetourt but live near Salem. The commute to work every day is long and my family would like to move closer, but the housing options are few and far between. We need more affordable options for renting and buying in the area.
We need more affordable housing in Botetourt for people filling the many new jobs coming to the area.
We need reasonably priced well built subdivisions in Botetourt county.
Living day to day paycheck to paycheck. Can't find an affordable place anywhere for my wife and i haven't been able to go out to a dinner let alone a vacation!

This would be great! I’m an RN and I have been commuting an hour drive for years because I cannot afford anything in the botetourt area.
