The DUI no one new about it untill it came out in the papers untill the week after the game. So its not like we all new about it. Parents hear more stuff then we do. If we had known about it. The player wouldnt have played.

It's simply called school protocol! There is alot more stuff that has to be done for someone to be kicked off. It isnt just okay your finished off the team. There are more steps then what people realize. Its the school side of the baseball team that has the final say on it all. And they have to say a player can be released or not. We only can tell them. Kawachi and dirks has the final say not us. And we made suggestions and they did turn us down on releasing players

I could not agree more. The bullying I'm not too sure, but I have heard about it when I'm watching games with other parents. So I would not doubt it at all. I mean, 112 signatures? Holy smokes. Something is definitely going wrong. As for the player's health? Desa does not care at all. His ace this past year played shortstop after pitching more than 100 PITCHES! This kid has a future in college baseball and he does that to him? Unbelievable. He doesn't care about the player's health either.

As a former Hilo High Baseball Alum, having played at the Collegiate level and been coaching in the Pony league Org this last 10-12 years in Hilo, I know that a win isn't as important as a players health. Especially a player with a bright future at the next levels after High school Baseball. I seen on one occasion where Coach Desa threw his Ace pitcher for 7 innings, well over 100 pitches and after the game went into extra innings he put the Ace at shortstop. That player should have sat down and had his arm iced. I strongly disagreed with this decision from Coach Desa. This instance is just one of many that I can recall, he need to go !

Every school has a thing about bullying. I feel that if a student is being bullied that their should be something done. No person should ever have to go through this especially by a teacher or coach. That's a person that they should look up too. I pray that their will be the right person for that coaching position that will be a blessing to those students.

What I went through as a player is something I would never wish upon on my worst enemy. He bullied me and mistreated me. If this petition doesn't make a difference, I'll take matters into my own hands and send this to the news or newspaper.

I played for this coach and he was horrible. He always blamed us for losing, always took out his frustration on us. He had his favorites and if you were not one of them you suffered big time. I hope this petition works out because this out of control.

Not a fan of this coach. He cost a lot of games for Hilo over the past few years. For an example, he would sit his ace or take out pitchers at the wrong time. The biggest issue with the guy is that he always blames the team for losing. His newspaper comments after a team loss is always contradictory to what he tells the kids.

I'am staying anonymous because I have a teen that plays under this coach. He's talked crap to my son and other players. He likes to put down the kids as well. I'm scared that something might happen to my son if I did not stay anonymous.

Yeah, this coach always grumbling and complaining every single game I umpire. Everything has to go his way in order for him to be happy. Sometimes I feel threatened by him and his coaching staff.

Can confirm he wanted to fight parents before. Not only him, his assistant coaches. It's so sad.

I understand your concerns. But, the question you will have to ask yourself is this, are you willing to endure whatever he is doing for the remainder of your family members years there? If you can answer yes, then so be it. If not, you have to understand you're going to have to take risks if you want a change. Nothing in life is ever promised, so of course there's no telling what could happen. But like I said, if you can live with not supporting or speaking out, then so be it. I will not sway your judgement. I've been through hell for 4 years and would of done this petition even if I was playing. I just never thought of doing this till people started to ask me and ask my dad.

After having former and current family members play under this coach, i feel he is not the right person for the job. I see the same mistakes he made several years ago still being made. After talking with family members i have realized they are hesitant to come forward. If nothing happens and this coach is still allowed to coach, whats to stop him from taking it out on players whose family decided to speak up? I do realize that in order to remove him people cannot be afraid to talk, but how can we as family members guarantee that there will not be repercussions? We cant.

Tony doesn't know what he is doing, talks crap to players and is very unorganized. HE DOES NOT COMMUNICATE INFORMATION TO THE PARENTS and is late with getting IMPORTANT information to the parents. He has no control of the players.

This coach is a liar and a "bully" to players. There are so many unethical issues he gets away with. He is a teacher at the school but is teaching the players the wrong life lessons. He should be fired!
