My child is a Sophomore at OHS and last year was actually told by his Science teacher that there were too many kids in the class and some would need to drop out. There was 35 kids in his class that day. By the way, homes are being continually built over here as well as apartment complexes. How can you justify building another HS in Ballantyne when we only have 1 out here? There is an addition being built right now to the over 50 year old school , but my guess is that the trailers will still remain, and now the parking lot is gone. I do not have the ability to shuttle my child to another high school and this one is the only choice here.

Olympic is over capacity with students. It's time to build a new school to provide some relief.

Developers are essentially raping our area with huge apartment complexes and residential development. The Palisades property is ideal for a new high school; quit dropping the ball on this area..?We are fed up!!!!

Last quarter my son was late every day for 3rd block because he could not get from the learning cottages on one side to the learning cottages on the other because the hallways were so crowded. He was excused because admin walked it one day and agreed it was impossible to get there on time.

I have lived in Steele Creek for 15 years and a high school is sorely needed. There has been 4 elementary schools built in the last 8 years, in there area, but no high schools. I read there was 70% growth in the last 10 years. We were slated for a new school near the Palisades and then in 2008 the recession hit.

A new high school in the SW area is long over due and would help reduce the number of tax dollar lost by families moving to South Carolina for newer, less crowded schools.

Olympic was not built to accommodate the second area that has been built . It was there for Whitehall and north of that.

The planning in southwest charlotte is horrible. The city is good at approving permits for residential developments, but horrible about providing the infastructure that is needed with all the new homes. improving the school system is beyond needed.

Please get this on the books now. Olympic high school is old and dilapidated. The addition being constructed is not enough to ease the overwhelming amount of students that will be entering high school from our area in the next few years.

Southwest Charlotte is often overlooked during school planning. We desperately need another high school in this area to alieve over-crowding. Respectfully, this should be a top priority.
