They should probably move Steele Creek Elementary to another piece of land which would allow for Olympic to grow. Olympic is something that can only be found in SW Charlotte, it unique. The concept of having multiple schools on one campus slowly prepares students for the college experience. More buildings are needed to allow for each small school to comfortable accommodate. However, building another high school around the area should be a top priority.
The fear might be that Olympic will be pushed aside and the small school initiative will end up falling apart like it did with Garinger.

CMS needs to keep politics and social engineering out of this process. It needs to build neighborhood schools in areas where there is tremendous population growth. No child should ever have to ride the bus for 45+ minutes to get to their school from home.

My son is 3 and we have said we are moving to Fort Mill before he starts school because of all the over crowding in CMS. While we do not want to, I am not starting him in CMS only to move before he starts high school. If this school is planned and a go within 2 years we may not moved. We have lost wonderful neighbors due to the fact they didnt want their kids at Olympic
