Clover Point Development and South Coast Development are requesting amendments to previously approved plans for Effingham County, GA Map #416 Parcel 20 E and F. The amendments call for decreasing 100 lot sizes from over 1 acre each to smaller lots so as to accommodate 234 new homes and 66 townhomes. This parcel is directly off of Hodgeville Rd, where currently no infrastructure has been developed to handle current increase in traffic patterns and school aged residents. They are also seeking approval on a new sketch plan, but it is unclear of whether any new amenities and entrances are included. It is unclear as to how the county (primarily South Effingham) has planned to to accommodate this growth in the school systems, infrastructure, etc should approvals be granted.

This petition is to contest any county approval of these requested changes to prior plans until a thorough evaluation of county Resources to support current and new residents can be determined.

The response to this proposal highlights how many of us share the same concerns regarding the infrastructure of our community. This momentum signals that our collective request for a formal evaluation of county resources is gaining significant traction.

Schools are already overburdened and families displaced due to rapid growth. Before more homes are added to our community, an assessment of our school system's ability to accommodate must be completed. The primary reason families move to Effingham is the school district; overburdening the school system will negatively impact the education our children receive.

I used to live in Belmont Glen about 4 years ago and it was already full bus wise then. There’s no way we can handle even more growth there until something is done about the crowding now.

Schools, roads and need to be addressed before any additional houses are built in south Effingham county. A third high school was promised over 10 years ago. Do right by the citizens and fix the issues!

I love our small community. But the growth is too rapid. Our little 2 lane roads can not handle another 300+ drivers. It takes 45 mins just to get down Hodgeville on any given M-F morning plus the commute to town. Our schools are busting at the seams and can not handle this new growth. Unless the county has a plan for new roads and schools these homes need to be stopped!

Hodgeville Rd is not capable of the growth. There are not enough inlets and outlets for the traffic. This housing growth with the additional growth of the industrial area will not be good. Seems to be common sense.

No new development of homes should be approved on lots under a half an acre. Not only can the schools and roads not handle the influx of people but our hospital, end, police, and fire services will also be strained and the county will come crying for more property taxes ...
