NEW Drill Coach for Springville
Springville’s drill team has struggled for several years, and those challenges have become especially serious in recent seasons under the current head coach, Lyndsey Ashdown. Last year, the program was at risk of being shut down entirely and is now only surviving due to a roster made up largely of ninth-grade students.
This situation is not sustainable.
Drill is a demanding, time-intensive activity that requires strong leadership, clear communication, organization, and fairness. Our team needs a coach who demonstrates professionalism, consistency, and the ability to manage a growing program while supporting athletes at all levels.
We believe Springville’s drill athletes deserve:
• A coach with strong managerial and organizational skills
• Clear and respectful communication with students and families
• Fair and consistent expectations
• A leader who is fully committed and has adequate time to devote to the program
• A positive environment that encourages retention, growth, and success
This petition is not meant to attack any individual, but to advocate for the long-term health and future of the Springville drill team. Without meaningful change in leadership, the program risks continued decline or eventual closure.
We respectfully request that Springville administration review the current coaching situation and take action to appoint new leadership that will rebuild, strengthen, and protect this program for current and future athletes.
By signing this petition, we stand together in support of the drill team and its right to strong, committed leadership.
