Dear President Eisgruber,
We are a group of students, both graduate and undergraduate, interested in starting a new co-op on campus.
The demand for co-ops on campus now exceeds the supply. 2D alone currently has a waitlist of 25 people (as of 2/6/2014). We want to provide another opportunity on campus for a vegetarian co-op that is residential.
We believe that the Dickinson Street Annex housing provides an excellent space for a new co-op. We propose to follow the model of 2D co-op in starting a vegetarian coop.
The house would remain a residential area for graduate students but would be the site of the kitchen for the new coop. People living at the house will consist of a combination of residents who are members and other residents who have dining hall meal plans and therefore won't need a kitchen. This will optimize the use of the kitchen and allow for the co-op to use it.
Please consider this request for a new co-op on campus.

As a prospective student next year of the Hindu faith, I believe that when the need for a vegetarian co-op is so great given the diversity and needs of Princeton's student population, the requisite tasks must be undertaken to ensure those needs of vegetarian students are met.
As a former member of 2D (class of '01), belonging to a co-op was essential in keeping my expenses low and my dining options affordable. Co-op membership should be available to as many students as possible
Princeton needs more coops, and adding another residential coop would be an important step in diversifying the spaces available for upperclassmen to eat and socialize healthily, inexpensively, and in a non-exclusive environment.
Being a member of a co-op was one of the key formative experiences of my time at Princeton. It gave me a warm community of supportive friends and taught me how to live more independently. I hope that everyone in Princeton who wishes to is able to have this opportunity.
There's a culture of responsibility within coops at Princeton: what you buy, you must cook, then eat, and clean. You are responsible for your actions. We should try to create more opportunities of this nature for more Princeton students. And as someone intending to go to medical school, I'm saving thousands of dollars a year by being in 2D.

Co-ops provide sorely needed alternatives to the current town and gown dining options.

Co-ops create a space for students who are neither satisfied by the street nor by the residential colleges. President Eisgruber has called for more options for our students, and expansion of the co-op system should qualify. They promote service and responsibility, and are exemplary intellectual environments for our students.
