This makes my heart hurt for the teachers and for Mrs. McKinney. I hope something can be done to remove Peter Majorca.

Consensus is that Ms. Mckinney's removal was motivated by ego and personal agenda, as the school is running immaculately, and the students and staff adore her. It is heartbreaking to witness the dismantling of a rare, effective, positive local school due to one individual's agenda. As another teacher said, I am interviewing at other schools for next year.

I think the very minimum the board should have shown parents is that they are listening to everyone's concerns and desires. When the majority of parents express such content with the current principal, the VERY least the parents should get is an explanation on why such controversial decisions were made. A résumé does not do it. In my professional and personal life I have always chosen passion and care (qualities very present in Mrs. McKinney) over a résumé. When I think of my kids, I want a professional who is passionate, caring and competent, just like Mrs. McKinney, a professional who has been a teacher and understands what it takes. I hope the parents are heard. Parents involvement and school success are directly related, what kind of board turn its back on parents?

The current board has proven that they are only out for their own agenda and not for the best interest of the children, the school, or the current principal. Hundreds of families are devastated by the decision of one or two board members for their own personal vendetta, or issue. The school has come leaps and bounds from last year under the supervision of Andrea McKinney. Peter Majorca has made it clear that he did not want her continuing and as a result, made it so and did not consider the hundreds of children and families participating in this school, that did want her to continue. So very wrong!

I am already looking for another school to teach since I am sure our school will close if Mr. Mojica does not resign, and we lose enrollment as a result.

If the current Chairman disagrees with this action brought by the leadership of the PTO and at this point over 60 additional stakeholders, I would encourage him and invite him to provide a detailed, written explanation of why his leadership is best for TPA and all of it's stakeholders in addition to a detailed, written explanation of why Mrs. McKinney was not hired. Transparency is needed and ultimately should be helpful.

Yes i agree. We need a stronger board and a board leader at that!!! We want a leader who we NOT only know by last minute letter conveying a very big & important matter in our lives! We want a pro-active, visible leader.
