I worked at the shelter and I know what kind of condition it's in. I sure do hope you get something done very soon. That building is not suitable for cats or small dogs at all, not to mention it's not big enough for a town the size of Cameron. Good luck!!

I am all in for the new shelter but what I don't understand is how is it that Kathy is driving around Cameron and a new animal control vehicle when that money could have went to the shelter as well I think she was doing very well in that little red pickup just my opinion trying to cause trouble

This city is in need of a lot of things and a new, functioning, safe animal shelter is a real need.

Cameron could only go right by building this new facility. I would welcome the change and love to volunteer in any way! Let's get this done!

I am in favor for a new animal shelter for the city of Cameron. I have lived in cameron my entire life and i see countless strays. It is on us to give these animals a safe place. I believe having a new facility would encourage the youth of our town to come volunteer and take pride in caring for the animals. I believe it would also help with social skills and to keep our youth out of trouble. These animals would even have a better chance of being adopted. No one wants to go to a run down shelter and get an animal. They would all think the animals would be in very poor health and on their last leg of life. Having a new facility would bring more people out, they would feel confident in the health of a potential new family member and would just be more likely to adopt from a nice looking well taken care of shelter. I would even volunteer my time to come help build the new shelter if given the chance. I hope the city council votes in favor of building a new shelter. Maybe even at a new location instead of a muddy gravel lot.
