This need to be better handled. The school needs to start ensuring that these type of situations are handled way better and other parents are notified

I sent up an ICE comment about this last week. Ms. Faerber called me the very next morning. It is not the school that doesn't want to inform parents. It's Dodea that decided about this policy. Obviously they must have never delt with lice because not allowing the school to inform parents is wreckless.

As a parent whose child was recently affected by this outbreak, I wholeheartedly support this change in policy.

There needs to be a policy and inform the parents of such outbreak! The CDC and SAC informs us. I would have never known if it wasn't for them. It's appalling that the school doesn't inform the parents. My child attends Graf, but goes to SAC and this still effects her and Graf should be held to the same standards as well.

Headlice is very serious. We all need to be Informed so we can take any and all precautions to not spread lice more so. Our children also need to be Informed as well.

Something needs to be done! You should not allow students to come to school till a doctor saying its gone.

If a child is to be shown to have lice, they MUST be sent home as well as a letter sent home to all parents in the class of that child. This is how schools handle said situations . Not only do schools follow this but so do daycares. This is appalling andthe manner in which DoDea schools handle these situations needs to be changed to reflect what is followed by all schools nationwide .

Thank you for starting this petition. This needs to be addressed to parents. I undertand the school can’t give names on children but they can send a general letter home stating someone in your child’s class has lice. And if a child does have lice they need to be sent home.

I can't believe that this isn't already a policy! I have never heard of a school that doesn't notify parents and send kids home! This has to change!!

I 100% agree that we as parents should be notified and the children should have to be all checked. For those that do have it should have to stay home until the doctors say they are clear to go back to school. How are you suppose to stop it from spreading to other kids if your allowing them to come to school with it and not telling anyone.
