I loved One Life to Live even before I could see it, being from Estonia. At first I read recaps online and listened to Robin Strasser's hotline, which was a great joy to me (ever since, I love crème brûlée). This was in 2003. I had seen BB in Estonia and YR and DOOL on Finnish TV. A few years later in 2005, having found them on the internet, I set out to watch each of the US soaps for a month. Some of them I couldn't get into, some had storylines I enjoyed more than the show as a whole and three I really liked - GL, OLTL and DOOL. But OLTL truly captured my heart. My favourites were Dorian and David, later also Clint and Kimberly, along with a wonderful cast of characters. 2008 was a fantastic year for the show and it stayed that way till the end, a puzzling cancellation for a show with great writing and increasing ratings. Which of course wasn't the end, if the fans had anything to say about it. Clearly, I was overjoyed when the show was brought back online, thinking intenational fans would finally be on the same footing with american viewers in terms of ease of viewership (which would have increased counted viewership), but the workaround was fine too. It was a great feeling of enthusiasm, of shared love and effort between cast, crew and fans, of bravely charting new territories. Perhaps the format was still too new, but online series have really taken off since then. One Life clearly had more than one life and it can surely come to life for a third time. And what better place to do it than Netflix, which is equally available to fans around the world.
