I'm a straight woman. And a HUGE FAN! It's not just for lesbians, although I do agree there should be more lesbian representation not just as "characters" in other shows.

This is the greatest and realistic show for gay women! This girls were role models and giving hope! The L Word represented the lesbian community and opened the eyes of many - Gay and straight. It portrayedlesbians as people; with different styles, personalities, careers, relationships, friendships, challenges, tragedies, triumphs, dreams, as well as family.
Plain and simple. The cast.
