Because I grew up with these women, and they taught me about how awesome I am for being gay. This show was not about being a lesbian, it was about owning your sexuality, and your life. And because stupid Jenny is dead, now we can move on to other story lines. LIKE MORE SHANE AND ALICE:-)

Because the diversity of characters, the friendship they had, the exploration of lesbianism on tv, characters that were varied, and the overall ongoing story lines that felt real and layered. We need another lesbian show, as there are far too few on tv nowadays that shows women loving and living.

I want stories of the relationships between Tina and Bette, Dana and Alice, Carmen and Shane, Kit and Ivan, Jenny and who knows, Dylan and Helena, Papi and who knows, and cameos from Cybill Shepherd, Jane Lynch, Clementine Ford, Anjelica Huston, Tilda Swinton, and Frances McDormand. I want strong stories about lesbians and their relationships with lesbians all along the spectrum of butch-femme, and maybe as Kate from Autostraddle suggested, a saloon brawl between The L Word actresses in character and the cast of the Real L Word having their arses kicked, because, for me, The L Word is simply more entertaining than the Real L Word imposters.

I saw this video on youtube....... inspiring. I didn't watch the series, but many of my friends did and I think based on that description of it.. It's a very important series in the gay community. I believe that there should be a show like this for every group of people especially in the gay community to help people not only gay people learn how to cope with themselves and their relationships but also to the straight community to help them learn that there is no "cookie cutter" lesbian. And that is very important.
