We, the neighbors to the proposed Indigo Hotel at 8-12 Maiden Lane, object to the proposed design of the 24-story hotel's façade as a brightly lit marketing device directly opposite to, and hence impacting the lighting within, our homes. This historic neighborhood should not become TIMES SQUARE.

Petition summary and background:

The Developer of 8-12 Maiden Lane is set to build a 24-story HOTEL between Broadway and Nassau. Each and every floor of half the building will be brightly lit on the outside and fully “sheathed in light” at midnight EVERY night. Maiden Lane will be drenched in light like Times Square.

Action petitioned for:

We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our leaders to act now to persuade the DEVELOPER to change the design before construction begins and protect our neighborhood against any other forms of light, air or noise pollution associated with the construction or operation of this new building.

WE NEED SIGNATURES PLEASE!!!

You can also come to show support to the Community Board 1 meeting at 6pm on Tuesday, April 28th at 90 Beekman Street.
