The Union has operated from a position of historical disadvantage to increase wages, however slowly, against a greedy, bombastic CEO and a managerial team that lacks empathy for the staff.
We are comprised of rank and file volunteers who in the name of social justice, spend hours outside of work fighting tirelessly to grieve violations and end the abuse of power.
The Union confronts management on health and safety violations such as lack of heat, lack of air and lack of water. It is because of The Union and the enforcement of the Collective Bargaining Agreement that staff members are released when it’s obvious that issues have not been resolved.
We are ALL Union members and without divisiveness and negativity, have POWER.

Let's break up the long-standing practice of holding negotiations at Lawrence and hold them in a more centrally located, and accessible location. Begin the next 50 years off on the right foot

To my fellow Union Brothers and Sisters:
Negotiations has been the most crucial period for us. Distance should not be an excuse nor a deterrent, to prevent any of us to stand together in SOLIDARITY and SOLIDARITY means bodies present, to make an impact with management. Word of mouth and back and forth criticism to each other, has not and will not fold, bend or break management, to give us fair and substantial living wages. WE are the force to make it happen. However, we will never receive what we aspire to have, unless WE are PRESENT to demonstrate we are UNITED. Management has become comfortable entering an empty room of union members, which in turn has led them to not take us seriously about our wages. If we're not showing up to acknowledge we are serious about our wages - how can we expect for them to do so? Most of you know that I have been a supportive, researching and reckoning force from day 1 and I'm tired y'all lol lol. NEVER TOO TIRED TO FIGHT THOUGH! But it is stressful and I need support. Roz needs support; Our saving grace Laura needs support; Our entire Union leadership needs support. Allow management to walk into the room and see 25-50-75 Brothers and Sisters in SOLIDARITY. Yes, that is what is going to have to take place - no matter where the meeting is held - in order for management to take us seriously. ALL OF US NEED TO SUPPORT EACH OTHER, SO LET'S DO THIS BECAUSE WE GOT THIS! Let's show them we are serious and that we...STAND IN SOLIDARITY! Thank-you

It will be nice not to take this important meeting at Damen and not take PTO as I need all my time because I have aspecial education child that needs my attention and sometimes I need this PTO to attend his needs.
