They are basically allowed to complete an illegal act. (Consuming/purchasing drugs) why not have Exchange program.

This situation has got completely out of control since the safe injection site opened. There are needles everyday outside that facility as well as needles in every other public area in the city. This site is not the answer. Please stop the lunacy. I will not leave my city... I will vote.

As a lifetime resident and tax payer in the city of lethbridge I find it completely unacceptable that we cater to the opioid crisis without ensuring the most precious thing in this city. Our children. It's ironic to me that we concern ourselves with the well being of people who not only are careless with their own well being but are clearly demonstrating the disregard for the health of the cities younger residents. How many of users in this city aren't contributors to the system. How much is spent on ambulance , police, shelter. While some user is being narcaned by an ambulance for the third time that week some other kid elsewhere in need could be transported. People will jump all over this comment and say its insensitive. But realistically a user has the choice to use. My kids don't have a choice if he or she accidentally steps on a needle at a park playing at school. Time to prioritize the things that are the most important in this city.

Something needs to be done about this. I think it is absolutely ridiculous that i just had to have a conversation with my children when they are at school or walking home from school. Im also a dayhome provider and i am now scared to take my little guys on field trips due to the problem with all these needles

If they won't get rid of the program they should at least make them do it there and keep the needles onsite.

Lethbridge should revolutionize and set the example of keeping the public safe and getting these people real help. If you refuse to get help, I’m sorry you belong in jail until you decide otherwise. You’re a threat to children and the public. Every positive proven measure to help should be considered and implemented. #bebetterlethbridge
