NEEDED: MATERNAL HEALTHCARE FOR WOMEN IN NIGERIA'S IDPs CAMP

Thrown into confusion, fear and uncertainty, Pregnant women and Nursing mothers in Nigeria's Internally Displaced
Persons camp are presently confronted with what could be termed a DEATH
SENTENCE handed over to them by CORRUPTION at all levels and sectors, executed by those to whom
public offices were given in trust.
As a journalist, i have seen first hand travails of internally displaced women who are either pregnant or nursing babies; i have seen heavily pregnant women in need of ante-natal care and nursing mothers in dire need of post-natal care. With their homes and sources of livelihood destroyed, these women struggle to stay safe and alive.
Enough is Enough of diverting funds meant for healthcare development into privates pockets! Our Mothers, Sisters and Wives will not continue to die preventable death! Corruption must STOP!
I respectfully ask that the Federal Government of Nigeria:
Provide viable Maternal and Reproductive health services at IDPs camps.
Extend to Internally Displaced Women and their families funds approved and released to support them.
Come to aid of Internally Displaced Women in ACTION faraway from paper and propaganda.
Prosecute everyone who has diverted or mismanaged funds meant for healthcare development in IDPs camps.
