This is the only pool around for our little ones to learn how to swim!

My kids are learning to swim in the NCCC pool. Our summer lake-swimming season is too short. I have used the pool for lap swimming - though the times I wanted to swim it wasn't always open. As many others have written, the pool is a valuable college and community asset. Many schools and colleges have a pool. What do they do that make it work? Please keep the NCCC pool open!

So important to keep pool open, for health of north country residents for whom it is a major source of exercise!

A pool for fitness and wellness is very important, especially to an aging population. Support the community, keep the pool open.

The pool is so important for a community surrounded by water and with such long winters! Saved many a day as a parent and as an adult with grown children.

Don’t give up when you have. It’s too difficult to get it back.

My physical therapist recommended that I swim - hope there is a pool to go to this year and beyond

The college has not had someone on the PE faculty with an aquatics back round in decades. The college has not invested in the pool, an asset, now their excuse is in dollars and cents. They could require one of the male PE faculty to get some aquatic experience then offer classes in the pool. Health and well being is achieved through lifetime activity, individual and dual such as snowshoeing, cross country skiing, tennis, swimming, etc.

Have recently moved to the area and was thrilled to find this beautiful pool. Once gone, it will not be replaced and will be sorely missed.

This summer deterioration of my right hip prevented me from walking any distance and most other types of exercise without substantial pain. However, I could exercise to my heart's content in the water. The NCCC pool was a lifesaver. There are many people with a wide variety of disabilities for whom the water is their only exercise option. It is VERY important that the NCCC pool remain open.

Our kids learned to swim here. It is a critical asset for NCCC, unlikely to be replaced if abandoned.

The pool is an important community resource and should be saved. Although we haven't used it in years we used it a lot when our kids were small and both of them learned to swim there.

I live in Saranac Lake. Though the locker rooms sorely need updating and are not well maintained, the pool is an essential community resource.

Closing the pool is not good sense. Expanding the facility and programming to educate and train more swimmers would be the preferred course.

I hope we can keep this great community asset where my kids learned to swim, and I learned to lap swim!
