The exams should be before Christmas. Start school earlier in August. Plus if NC gets snow it's always after Christmas.

This is a no-brainer. Start school a few days earlier so we can finish exams before Christmas break, just like colleges do.

We are now 2 weeks behind in our 2nd semester because of weather. High School needs to take exams before Christmas break.

I left off that school should start much earlier in August. The current plan of going - then being out for Labor Day and then returning is not sensible.

My daughter took exams before the holiday and did great. She goes to early college high school.

I think this is a great idea. The schools should also be granted some sort of waiver for making up days in the event of a declared state of emergency. Many states do this so that students are not going to school for far longer than scheduled in the summer or losing spring break days.

This would also allow students who have enough credits to graduate at the end of first semester to start in the spring at a college.

I am a high school teacher, and I can tell you that the students forget stuff over that two week break. Also, we just had a snow storm that delayed our exams by at least 3 days now, and it typically doesn’t snow in December here. I hate having to finish the semester after the break!
