Let's put exams before the winter break. If the legislators are looking for higher test scores and growth, then stop giving students 2 weeks to forget everything they learned during the fall semester.

So important to let the students feel like they are on a real break. Great for teachers, too. Can’t imagine ANY student-centered reason NOT to make sure they test before the break.

We took our exams before break when I was in high school and out was great. Students actually get to enjoy the break and have a fresh start with new classes.

Please move exams to before the winter holiday break. It just makes sense. Come on lawmakers!

By starting @8/15 test before Christmas break which should be at the least 14 days off will allow everyone time to recharge and start next semester fresh. Adding a week in June also gives make time to test and get ready for graduation. Then School has enough time built in so no one is rushed.

Traditional public schools deserve the same calendar flexibility that is allowed for charter schools. If charters are seen as the future of publicity education, then we need to allow our “traditional” schools the opportunity to use some of the same methods and procedures to determine if they work for all of us.

Save my summers was stupid to begin with! Who determines education based on he tourism industry? I hope those Save my Summer parents have children trying to take exams right now... with snow days interrupting the schedule. Just plan your beach trip better! This way those without kids can enjoy their beach trips without al the kids running around!

Let local school boards determine what is best for their students! The Save Our Summers movement had good intentions but the parameters are so restrictive, when snow days happen, there’s very little wiggle room. Exams before the break and starting fresh after Christmas make sense AND serve the kids. Serving children needs to be the priority when determining the calendar.

This would also help AP/IB and students who are taking community college courses - their exams are in May!
