There is a National rule stating that if rollovers are allowed then the Open class must be ran before the youth or senior classes. This has proven to result in children being kept up much too late at night and many seniors who do not want to run in the open (being forced to pay 2 entry fees) are also having to stay out very late. Many have just stopped joining NBHA all together. WE hereby petition the National Barrel Horse Assocation to PLEASE simply edit this rule so that it is NOT required for the Open class to be ran first. Thank You.

Here is the full rule from the NBHA website: a.Show Management may allow eligible contestants to rollover their time in the Open class for the Youth or Senior class. Contestants wishing to rollover a time must declare their intent before event begins. Any contestant carrying time must pay the applicable entry fee for both classes and is eligible to win prize money and NBHA points just as if the time was run in the other class. If this is done, the Open must be run first. The pattern for the Open, Youth and Senior must be exactly the same and must not be changed in any manner
