Nausea and nauseous are probably the two hardest-to-spell words in the English dictionary. I never know how to spell them correctly, which is particularly annoying when I'm feeling nawshus and need to text someone about it.
I've been sick with COVID for two weeks now, and have spent precious energy either looking up how to spell my nefarious symptom or trying to get close enough to the real word that my spell checker knows what I'm trying to do.
Enough is enough. Nawshus, non-spelling-genius, English-speaking people of the world, it's time to stand up for ourselves. Please sign this petition and help convince the dictionary decision makers to change the official spelling of (hold on, let me look this up) nausea to nawsha / nawja or anything starting with naw, since there's no good way to write a jzsha sound in English.
In addition, nauseous should be changed to nawshus, nawshis, nahshis or any phonetic variation of the sort.
