We, the class of 2018, petition for boys AND girls to wear navy caps and gowns at our graduation. To the great distaste of the students at Troup, girls have had to wear bright gold gowns at graduation. We aim to change this. Instead of the tacky, see through, unflattering, yellow gowns of the past, we want nothing more than the aesthetically pleasing, classic, navy gowns that once were. As the students that have to pay for this attire, we feel that our opinion should be taken into deep consideration. This petition stands to prove the outstanding opinion that the students feel towards what we wear at a monumental event like graduation. We hope that the graduation coordinators at Troup High School will consider and appreciate this showcase of our opinions

The administration has acknowledged the volume of this petition and requested a formal meeting to discuss the gown color policy. I am currently drafting a proposal that outlines our request for navy attire to present to the graduation coordinators.

Yea, I'd prefer to wear a navy gown and cap. The 2 different colors honestly look bad when they're mixed together.
As I am a graduate of next year, 2018. I would rather not look like a block of velveeta cheese. It doesn't flatter anyone, and as we pay for the cap and gowns I believe we should have a say so on what we graduate in.
It makes the school look tacky and outdated for separating the boys and girls with colors
I agree with this statement 100 percent. And want to add that the senior cap-and-gowns portraits for the girls that parents spend money on will look better in Navy. The gold looks a little "cheesy." Pun intended!
I refuse to look like a lemon when I graduate. Why is it such a big deal for you guys? No one likes it. Beginning with last years senior class (class of 2016). Even parents hate them
Please consider the requests of the seniors for navy cap and gowns.
Don't go here anymore but that gold color so ugly #gonavy
