In Schools all over America, Children as Well as Adults are taught a lie!  We should take a better look at one of America`s National "Hero." Christopher Columbus was never respectful of the rights of the Native Americans. " He erased the natives by inhabiting the land with slavery, warfare and, inhumane acts! Christopher Columbus and the Men who accompanied him completely destroyed the people, culture and land!" (Whitney Dewitt)
This is not the kind of man who should get any credit for anything. Not only did he do inhuman things but also was not the first explorer to enter the America`s. So Why Do We Celebrate a Murderer? I am not saying that getting another day off is a bad thing but just the fact that people are being lied to and being taught false information. Christopher Columbus was no "Hero."
REMOVE COLUMBUS "THE MURDER" AS AN AMERICAN HOLIDAY!   
And stop teaching false things, have the Text books changed and let the United States Citizens be taught the truth about Christopher Columbus.
