We need a permanant rink all year round for our amazing skaters and hockey players etc. to practice on throughout the year in The Republic of Ireland and not have to go to Belfast all the time

It's such a shame that all our incredibly talented figure skaters, hockey players and winter sports athletes have no permanent training ground. Instead they are left with no option but to travel far and wide in order to continue their training. Isn't that what always happens in this country, we send away our best and then try claim all the honour and patriotic acclaim when they do well. We need proper facilities to nurture the amazing talent we have here.

It's bad when I can say that I skated far, far more in the desert (UAE) than in my own country. There is so much demand for a year round facility...Ice is for Life, not just for Christmas!!

It's a game we don't have a permenant facility here. The birth place of ice Hockey pretty much. It's a disgrace that all teams and athletes have to travel abroad to train, compete and test so as a nation we can represent in a sport seemingly forgotten about by lack of facilities. Over the years I have seen hundreds of people go skating at Christmas, and the national learn to skate program " The Emerald skate program" running at capacity with waiting lists to join up to learn how to skate. The ice skating world in General is shocked how as a nation we don't have a permenant facility to call our own. Something needs to be done and soon.

It's badly needed in this country. its a disgrace, County and national teams training in carparks. Needs to be sorted once and for all
