In my opinion, Narusaku would've been just as undeveloped as you guys set Naruhina and Sasusaku out to be. Sakura has never been hinted to have ANY romantic feelings towards Naruto whatsoever. Their development revolved around SASUKE and was completely platonic. So tell me, what justifies Sakura ending up with Naruto? Because, like I've stated, Sakura never had any romantic feelings for Naruto. Her heart belonged to Sasuke and Sasuke only. Naruto knew this, and he respected it. What Naruto had for Sakura was love indeed, but a different kind. His love for Sakura started out as a crush, but nearing the beginning of the end of the series, his love had turned into that of a family member. As for Sakura, the love that started as a crush for Sakura only matured as she began to know him. It was the opposite of Naruto. I've noticed that one of Narusaku's main excuses of why Narusaku should've been the canon pairing is because Kushina told Naruto to find a girl like him. Yes, Sakura is very similar to that of Kushina personality-wise. But who's undying love matched that of her's? Hinata. Both women were willing to lay their life on the line for Naruto, not Sakura. Perhaps this is what Kushina meant by a girl like her. Afterall, I feel like she would be much happier with her son ending up with a woman who loves him unconditionally rather than a woman who reflects her personality yet lacks in the undying love she felt for Naruto.

Naruto went through so much by trying to save sasuke, fighting fights that almost costs his life, handling & over coming his own jinchuuriki and becomes the hokage BUT CAN'T GET THE GIRL HE'S IN LOVE WITH? It makessssss NOOOOOOOOOO SENSE. I don't care if people tells me "fillers don't count" but guess what? Was that episode in a fan girls youtube videos or made up love stories?
