I heard that this was a thing and I thought to myself "No way! No one could be stupid enough to try and ban a series because of who ends up with who."
Apparently I was wrong. First of Sakura and Naruto, I understand why y'all may have thought it was a good choice. But she's never shown affection. A new found respect yeah. Everyone respected him more. But never did she like him. And his "dream girl"? I know that you all have found a "dream girl/guy" and realized later on that it was a dumb choice. An error in judgment. Hinata was always there for him, even knowing how he felt for Sakura. And was never mean to him about that. She kept on working. Sakura was rude as hell when they were younger and just ended up being there when they got older. I won't say she was useless. She had some good moments. But Naruto and Hinata is a true relationship. And Sakura got to be with Sasuke! She's wanted that for years! It finally happens and y'all act all butthurt! Get over it and quit be bothersome to Kishimoto

Basically after so many plot twists the Naruto fandom had been reduced to shipping wars because apparently in the naruto fandom you're not allowed to state your opinions and for this reason so many competent people started leaving naruto because of this, except for the shippers. There are plenty of youtube rant videos on naruto and its fandom from years ago. I've been watching these videos recently and it's amazing how relevant they are still. You just can't state your opinions without being disrespected. The one piece fans don't really care about what you say about the manga as long as you're still reading the manga.
I've been watching Naruto for the last eight years and I was a manga subscriber for one year. But it wasn't until recently that I discovered the shit storm that is the naruto fandom. Particular the naruhina crowd was the most rabid since you couldn't go through the comment sections of review on youtube without them spamming the comment section with their notorious trolling baits.
The sad truth is that if kishimoto ever does an alternate reality(and/or improved ending) you'll get naruhina fans jumping ships and then shamelessly accusing naruhina fans of being stupid naruhinatards. This is the sad truth, most of the time when something becomes popular most of the time it loses its original meaning because of the people that are just there for the hype.
