The Goal: To get a bill passed to that ANYONE who is given a narcotic prescription will be required to sign a PAIN CONTRACT with the doctor, to monitor their dosage in an effort to protect the patient's health while taking the medication. Changes this will make: * Help those who are in pain get the proper care that they need. * Alleviate our medical providers' concerns tied to over prescribing pain medication. * Decrease unnecessary judgement assumptions of addiction for patients seeking pain relief for extended/chronic pain conditions. * Better control of unauthorized use by individuals not approved for the medication. * Patients who have been succesfully treated using a narcotic deserve follow-through care by their attending physicians, in order to be properly tapered off the medication as the final step taken in the PAIN CONTRACT. Following these 5 steps within this proposed PAIN CONTRACT, would be a very positive approach to curbing many of the abuses that take place with the current system of narcotic prescriptions. It needs to become a mandatory requirement, and you can help. PLEASE TAKE A MINUTE AND SIGN THE PETITION. THANKS FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION!
