In tribute to the memory of the late great community leader John Watusi Branch, the Board of Directors and Members of The Afrikan Poetry Theatre, Inc (The Center For Culture),would like to have the street of 176st to 177th and Jamaica Ave. Renamed John Watusi Branch Way.
The reason for this location? It is the home of The Afrikan Poetry Theatre, a Non Profit Cultural Arts and Community Center founded 39 years a go by John W. Branch. Nov. 5th is acknowledged by The City of NY and the Borough of Queens as The Afrikan Poetry Theatre Day. Help us celebrate the life of one of Queens Finest.
