Mr McClendon was my high school History class teacher. He showed me much compassion during a difficult time. I still recall the last time i saw him in the lunch room and what he said to me. He was right!

He was a neighbor, a teacher, and a friend to the family. I babysat for him and he was just as amazing as a family man as he was as a coach, teacher and politician. This is SO deserved on every level. The world just lost a great leader and an ever greater PERSON.
