Coach Lindsley was my PE instructor for 2 of my 4 years at MK. Also had him for Driver Ed. Enjoyed his instruction, life observations, and support.

Herb more than deserves this honor...it should have been done before he passed.

Herb was a winner. Did not matter the sport. Did not matter the gender. Did not matter if you had more or less socially or economically. All he needed was a student with desire that wanted to compete. Herb focused that desire like a laser focuses light. My one request would be that the bottom bleacher on the home side be labeled RESERVED FOR HERB and left empty except for maybe a white towel.

He was one of the greatest coaches to come out of Morris Knolls.

As I previously stated on Facebook... I cannot put into words what Herb Lindsley has meant to me. There is no other individual who has been a bigger influence in my life than Herb. Not only my success as a basketball player but my success in parenting, coaching, business and life in general all stem from Herb's influence. His ability to get the most out of me and every other player on our team was unmatched. I will never forget in my senior year we were 9-0 and lost to Newton in our home gym. The next morning there was a sign in the gym that said 25 days. Every morning the sign changed until it said 1 day. That was the day we were playing Newton again. We ended up beating them 85-58 which avenged the only regular season loss we had that year as we finished 20-1. Unfortunately we lost our first game of the state tournament due to a multitude of injuries. I remember handing in my uniform the next day and, I am not ashamed to say, I cried because I would never play for Herb again. What many people don’t know is what Herb did for people off the court. He got Mr. Curry to fly a teammate of mine to North Carolina to make sure he got into that college. He drove me to Glassboro to meet the coach to make sure I got into the school of my choice. We left at 2pm and did not get home until 3am because we drove through a blizzard all the way home. Those are just 2 of the hundreds of stories that show how Herb went out of his way for his players! The world today needs more Herb Lindsley's!

I didn't know Coach Lindsley, but I know his grandson well. Judging by the exceptional character Coach passed down to my friend, I have no doubt he deserves this honor.

As a friend and colleague of Herb's grandson, Tom Lindsley, and knowing the quality and character of this family, this is a well deserved honor.

Naming the court in his honor isn't just symbolic-it's a way of making their impact permanent and visible in a place that reflects what they stood for.
