he's qualified because he knows the game of basketball more than anyone else brought in & has proven that. there's only one way to have head coach experience, that's being hired as a head coach? obviously the coaches you've brought in before him that were so called "experienced" didn't fit the program needs very well. maybe giving someone who is deserving of the opportunity a chance instead of counting him out for the worst excuses possible would be beneficial. He's an experienced coach who has been out of college more than a decade, and has influenced tons of people on the game. Maybe he needs a better income than an assistant coaching job provides for his family... no reason to say he isn't qualified for the job? Like stated earlier, the so called ones that have been "qualified for this coaching job" before haven't met the needs very well...

How is he qualified? He’s never been a college assistant coach- let alone a college head coach.

You won't find anyone who would be more dedicated to having a successful program at GSC! He will put his heart and soul in the program. It's disappointing that we need to sign a petition for him to have an interview. GSC used to take pride in having past players come back in positions such as this. Make us proud Pioneers.

I attended Glenville State College with Steve. He was not only a member of the Glenville State College community, he became a member of the Gilmer county community and built his life around Glenville and it's people. Steve was a standout basketball player, a great student but more importantly an even better person. He has had a successful high school coaching career and should at the very least receive an interview for the GSC men's head basketball coaching position. The community of Glenville as well as many Glenville State alumni have voiced great support for Steve. Do the right thing and grant Steve an interview. You may be pleasantly surprised.
