Name Ed Reynolds the Principal of the merged HN/SPM Schools

Mr. Edwards is the rockstar of educators.

As an HN Grad and a parent of two HN Grads I can honestly say I was heartbroken with the news of the merger, but I felt at ease knowing that Ed Reynolds would be there to lead the next generation of these two schools. I knew there would be problems but I also knew if anyone could solve these problems it would be Ed. I felt with the leadership of both Mr Driscoll and Mr Reynolds this merger could be “stronger together”. Now they have neither. Let’s put all our differences aside and do what’s best for these kids and the future of catholic education. Let’s give Ed a chance to prove he practices what he preaches...loved at home loved at school and loved by God. These students, parents and staff deserve a strong leader and Mr Ed Reynolds is our man.

Removing Mr. Reynolds is a huge mistake.

Mr. Edward Reynolds is absolutely the correct choice for principal of the new school. He is what a Catholic education represents.

Mr Reynolds is a person who truly cares about the students and the school, he makes the school home.

Students need someone they can trust and get behind. Mr. Renyolds is that man.

Without Mr. Reynolds as principal, there will be no unity in the merger. Why would the diocese hire someone from the outside when the best person for the job is Mr. Reynolds!!!

As a student at HN, I can without a doubt say that Mr. Reynolds is the best administrator I have ever had and he is the ONLY man for this job. Ever since the announcement of the merge, it feels like the diocese has made almost every wrong decision they could have. The merge is nobody’s first choice but part of the reason that I have been able to cope with it was knowing, or at least hoping, along with many others, that the man who has dedicated his life to Catholic education would be running the school next year. But now, the diocese has chosen to go with an outside hire, rather than giving the job to the the man that so clearly deserves it. After the merge had been announced, the Friday before Christmas break, the HN students attended a Christmas mass and pep rally. Michael Clark came and spoke at this Mass, and I saw him walk up to the microphone and I asked “Who is this guy?” He makes no effort to learn what goes on daily in the schools that he runs. His speech about the merge left us students feeling almost worse. But like always, Mr. Reynolds stepped in and saved the day. He took the mic after Mr. Clark stepped away to no applause, and gave a speech that led to a standing ovation. In it he said: “I don’t know what’s going to happen next year or if I’ll even be here, but I do know this. It doesn’t matter what building they put us in, or who they choose for teachers and administrators because that doesn’t make a school what it is. That’s what you guys do. Going into this merge, nothing is certain. But I do know this, that I am Holy Name, you are Holy Name, and we are Holy Name.” Those words have stuck with me ever since, and I just can’t believe that Mr. Reynolds wasn’t the diocese’s first choice for this new position. Give this job to the only man that has earned it.

Mr. Ed Reynolds was a major reason we chose Holy Name. In the short time we have been here, we have seen his dedication to this school and the Diocese through his leadership and compassion. He has created an amazing rapport with the students, faculty, and families of the school. He is visible in every aspect of the school...from greeting every student at drop off to being a part of all of the events. With all the turmoil this merger has induced, Mr. Reynolds is the only candidate for principal that makes any sense. The strong community felt at Holy Name is rare, and I am so proud of being a part of it as we create this new merged community. So many things have been done to pull our two communities together in these past weeks, and this announcement of acting principal right before a long break has truly placed a shadow on all the good we have done so far. The Diocese asked that we make this merger a positive experience. We are doing this, but if the Diocese wants to see this new school and this new community flourish and thrive, it will reconsider its decision and place Mr. Ed Reynolds at its helm. Please, we implore you to listen to our merged voices.

Reconsider the entire idea of merging in the first place. Have all other strategic plans been exhausted?

Mr.Reynolds is so amazing and dedicated to his job, he definitely made the 6 years I've been at Holy Name a great experience! Always looking to make changes for the better for our school with our recent lab and auditorium, I have no doubt in my mind that he would deal with the merge in the cool, thought out manner he always does. Please make him the head of the school next year, he deserves it so much.

What they are doing is wrong, not in the best interest of our children, not in our best interest, not even in the catholic faith, but all $$$ based. They are not be honest, not being understanding, not being supportive - just destroying everything these two schools stand for... Shame on the Bishop, he to will be judged and it wont be good!

Christine Baril- Mr. Reynolds was a major factor in the decision to send my four girls to this school. He must remain after the merger or you’re setting the new school up to fail.

Ed Reynolds for Superintendent! Please read on: I had the pleasure to have Mr. Reynolds as my Principal in my 6 years as an HN student. Now, I’m in my 6th year of teaching and working with him as my colleague. From both sides, student and teacher, Ed is everything you want in a leader. He is the reason I am teaching: I was playing music and touring full time when he called me and convinced me to come and teach at my alma mater. It has been the best decision. Ed truly cares about every single student, the faculty and the staff. He is at everything: concerts, musicals, games from every sport, masses, pep rallies, fundraisers, and in the community. He set a clear vision and path for the school during a time of economic hardship, and despite the challenges of the past decade, maintained and built an incredible school. He headed the effort to completely revamp our beautiful auditorium in an incredible showing of support for the arts. We created a committee together to raise that money and get it done (on time, in budget, and with a grand showcase to re-open the space, I might add). This effort was similarly reproduced with our new bio-tech lab complete with state-of-the-art equipment. The list goes on and on. The MOST important thing to recognize about Ed Reynolds is this: he IS the embodiment of our motto: “Loved at home. Loved at school. Loved by God.” He is a Christian role model and leader that has transformed an old building with students and staff into a beautiful school that is home to a FAMILY. Make Ed Reynolds the Superintendent. He already was a fantastic principal, and the one of the greatest Headmasters the school has ever known. But at the very least, keep him as Principal. Without him, you simply don’t have a school anymore.

Sad to see it came down to a petition! He’s defiantly the best fit and most deserving of this position.

Mr Reynolds was one of the reasons i came to holy name. He’s the best principal i’ve ever had and with him leaving, a ton of people aren’t gonna come back.
