Ed Reynolds is a dedicated and experienced administrator. His students have been lucky to have him, what a mistake to let him go.

Dr. Perda has not made one decision in the best interest of the students. This whole merger has been done behind closed doors with not an ounce of transparency. Not to mention every communication to families occurs when there is no school the following day. Releasing the administrative team Friday afternoon of February vacation is an amateur move accomplished by a superintendent with no back bone.

We are heartbroken to hear Mr. Reynolds will not be a part of the new HN/SPM community in the fall. It is an absolute travesty not to have him on board. There is no one better qualified for the position. When my daughter joined the HN community, we were blessed to have some wonderful educators/leaders/ advocates/advisors such as Dr. Audette, Mr. Reynolds and Mrs. Kennedy. They were/are so valued in the HN community and it is an absolute disgrace they are not apart of the HN community going forward. With this decision and past decisions, the diocese does and did not realize the negative impact it has in this family community. I can only hope the diocese recognizes their grave mistake before the wonderful family communities at both HN and SPM dissolves.

My daughter graduated from Holy Name under the leadership of Ed Reynolds. She had a great experience and based on her education at Holy Name she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2019. I was also the president of the parents association for two years and worked very closely with Ed. Ed is compassionate and genuinely cares for every student’s well being as well as the quality of their education. Ed is the obvious choice to lead a smooth transition of the the two schools.

87 HN Grad with a daughter who graduated recently and a son attending HN now. The Diocese should be absolutely embarrassed at how poorly this transition is happening, at how poorly the transition team is handling the most important assets to this community (leaders like Mrs Kennedy, Dr Audette and now Mr Reynolds), and how out of touch they are with the HN community given that the Diocese is in the process of destroying the HN community. I am unaware of a faith-based educational community that was as strong as HN before the diocese started picking it apart. The buildings, names and legacy are all important but the HN community is strong because of of the people; administration, teachers, students and alumni. Treat all (or even some) of these elements poorly and you just killed off a beautiful, amazing Catholic community. Please reconsider the misguided decision of hiring an outsider to lead the new school.

As an alumni of Holy Name and being someone that was very involved with the school and community, I am absolutely astonished that Ed Reynolds has not been just given the role of principle in this new upcoming merge or schools. He has always been there for me and my family in times of hardship and need. Mr. Reynolds is one of the people that kept Holy Name running as a school and kept the funds coming in, which is the reason it is so successful today. When choosing to go to Holy Name as a freshman, one of the main reasons that I chose the school was because of the family feeling, energy, and compassion of the school as a whole. I am concerned that this is something that is not being considered in the decision making by the parties that be. This is pulling that is pulling the school apart as a family community. The community feeling that he brought to the school is not something that would not be written on a resume, and that this is something that I think is not being recognized. Many of the decisions being made are not transparent, and it is 100% putting un-needed stress on the faculty, staff, family, students, and alumni, of what was a wonderful school community.

‘96 worked with Ed on the Set the Stage campaign to renovate and save the theater at Holy Name. Pleasure to work with and a good leader. A shame to lose this talented and committed advocate of Catholic education.

This is this absolutely ridiculous. The lack of organization in this entire merger is embarrassing as an alumni of one of these high schools. And to tell me that you’re going to go to an outside hire instead of someone who dedicated his career to catholic education is ludicrous. Ed Reynolds is exactly what this new school needs to be successful in the most poorly planned merger of all time. I spent my four years of high school with Mr. Reynolds as my headmaster, and he made himself available to anyone who needed him. He made Holy Name fun while still preparing me for college. Mr. Reynolds, the students, the parents, and the staff deserve better than the diocese has given. Shame on them for basically ever decision made thus far, but this is BY FAR the worst one.

As an alum of Holy Name, I was lucky enough to see Ed Reynolds on a daily basis. I’ve never met a man as funny, personable, compassionate, caring, profesional, and kind as him. He is a spectacular leader, and Holy Name would not be the phenomenal place that it is today had he not been there. I’m exceptionally disappointed with the Diocese. Ed Reynolds is by far the best man for the job.

As treasurer of the Holy Name Alumni Association I have had the privilege of interacting with Mr Reynolds, he is always kind and considerate and he shows genuine love for the school.

Please reconsider your decision, and hire Ed Reynolds as principal of the new merged high school. He is the embodiment of every Catholic value my wife and I cherish as the foundation of our daughter’s education. His steady demeanor and experienced leadership is exactly what the new school needs to start off on a strong footing.
