Name Ed Reynolds the Principal of the merged HN/SPM Schools

Mr Reynolds has given so much of himself to Holy Name over the all the years he has been there. He is an amazing example of a Catholic educator. He is the type of leader I want my children to have. I never wanted to consider a differnt school other than a Diocesan High School for my children, but the direction of this merger is making us reconsider. I'm losing my faith in the Diocese ability to make the right choices for my children.

My daughter is an incoming freshmen accepted into HN and I an alumni of HN , and when I see a principal, outside the school picking up trash the day I dropped my daughter off to shadow, speaks volumes to me, about his dedication to HN

I had the pleasure of working for Ed for 13 years. I have never met someone more devoted to Holy Name. He is passionate about spreading the faith, extremely competent at ensuring that the study body, faculty and staff are cared for, supported and able to succeed. The loss of his position is due to the fact that he cared enough to tell the superintendent the truth about the needs of the system. He is being unjustly chastised and punished for being competent and courageous.

I support Mr. Reynolds position as continuing his leadership as the principal for the two merged schools.

Students should have some familiar faces involved in this decision. I think students and parents should have a say in the staff that are kept in what positions. Many of us have already invested over 100,000.00 on our children's education. We should certainly have a say in who our students are being taught by.

During my four years at Holy Name, Mr Reynolds did a amazing job as our Principal. Our school didn't just do well, but really thrived. I enjoyed going to a school were the Principal knew who I was and Mr Reynolds always strove to know who he students were.

We may remove our daughter from the school if Mr Reynolds is not kept on as principal.

Mr. Reynolds should be kept as principal, also us parents were told they would not be going outside to hire now all of a sudden they are. I don’t understand how someone so dedicated to his Job, students, and community could not be qualified enough to run our school for our children.

Having encountered Mr. Clark in and out of the classroom, I adamantly feel he is incapable of making the tough decisions and choices this positions faces in the day we live in.

Ed is wonderful with alot of experience. Make him Principal!

When two communities are being faced with a stressful and unpopular challenge and both are calling for the same leader to guide them into this new era, you go with the person that can pull the two communities together. Mr. Reynolds is the person that is able to find the best path forward - for the staff, for the parents, for the students, for the community, and for the spirit of the new school. Mr. Clark has proven to alienate, frustrate, and turn off parents and students, time and time again. There will be no community with Mr. Clark "leading" the way. Bring back Mr. Reynolds with his vision, integrity, and spirit to build the new school and community.

Mr. Reynolds should be the principal of the merged school. He is devoted to his students and faculty and sets the example of what a Catholic educator should be. Our faith says we are a church of mercy and compassion. Sadly, the Catholic Schools Office seems not to know this. Do what right and just for our students and keep Mr. Reynolds our principal.

Keep Mr. Ed Reynolds

Not only are we unhappy with the merger but the way you treated Mr. Reynolds is unacceptable. Mr. Reynolds is the heart of the school and my son feels safe and loved with him as the principle. Very disappointed and having second thoughts in sending my child there next year. Why would I send my child there now that you set this atmosphere and upset so many students and parents. Strikes me as a very ruthless way to treat someone who is so dedicated and loved so much by the kids and families. You ripped the heart out of Holy Name!

Mr Reynolds has proven to be the steadfast and faith-filled leader that this new combined school needs.

I was a member of the of St. Peter's class of '76. One of two sons went to Holy Name and the other to SPM. I have worked and/or volunteered at both. I enjoyed working with Mary Riordan and Ed Reynolds at Holy Name and I saw first hand their integrity and commitment. Before that, I worked with my dad who initiated the first annual Bishops' Fund (he was there for 40 years, I was for there for 20). On the other hand, I emailed and called Mr. Clark SEVERAL times a year ago with message of an opportunity to bolster admissions....which is the stated issue to merge the schools. The man never responded to anything. Not even a simple "thanks but no thanks". I've not met him, but I have my own impression. He's no Ed Reynolds, that's for sure!!
