My name is David Medina. I am trying to get signatures to support the naming of the football field at East High School in honor of my father Fred Medina. Fred's life long passion was athletics and helping young men and women get in to college. Fred started working in the Rochester City School District in 1971 at Franklin High School. He then moved to Monroe High School and finally settling at East High School from 1988 until his retirement in 2000. Fred was an integral part in helping many athletes into college: Roland Williams, Kywnn Walton, Dwayne McClary, Jason Colson, Terry Grooms, and Michael Thompson who all went on to play D1 football just to name a few. The list of former players across multiple disciplines of athletics who Fred helped on their college path is way too lenghty to write. By signing this petition his legacy will be forever remembered and honored. Thank you for your help.

This man has spent his career dedicated to promoting and advocating for young student athletes in securing scholarships to realize their academic & athletic potential He has uses his own resources and time above & beyond what is expected of a guidance counselor!! Give him this posthumous honor
One of the "Greatest" things a Man can do is positively influence the life of the young men around him. Mr. Medina hit that mark,.. many many times over!!! It's a honor to even be able to sing this for our Beloved Mr. Medina!
Mr Medina was my coach for youth football with the Northwest Raiders - he made an impact on my brothers and I as we were growing up playing ball becoming young men. The lessons on the field were life lessons masked in football fundamentals, drills, execution and drive for excellence. Great spirit and uplifting personality, a great man I have great memories of.
This is in memory of my father. There are so many individuals that have stated if it wasn’t for him in high school they wouldn’t have gone on to finish or attend college. His dedication to students, athletes, and the young community will live on in his memory!
NO ONE has done more to help city athletes receive athletic scholarships than Fred Medina. He’s impacted, changed and possibly saved more kids lives than anyone I’ve known in my 30 years of teaching.
He’s been a pillar of excellence for a long time selflessly helping Rochester’s, I want him to get it. He deserves it.

Fred Medina has had a uniquely profound and immeasurable impact on my life and the greater Monroe county community at large. He was a mentor to so many, and his legacy will live on forever.
